Job Title: Regional Inplant Operations Manager (RIPO)

Location: Wisconsin / Minnesota / Missouri / South Dakota

First Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

OVERVIEW: Responsible for managing approximately 12 separate customer in-plant sites, whose Sun Chemical employees have day/to/day operational responsibility. This includes personnel, operational and safety management functions as well as occasional technical service and customer interaction. Will be required to manage efforts of employee roster to guarantee adherence to SOP's for all job functions, while operating in a safe and accident free environment. Will be responsible for cascading down to all employees the necessary KPI's (internal and customer driven) and insuring site employees are operating at an expected level of excellence for all in-plant sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage multiple individual in-plant operation sites, insuring adherence to SOPs, audits, and other processes and systems including production, quality, reporting, safety, quality of life (O/T) and training metrics well established by stated Sun Chemical in-plant guidelines and objectives.

  • Manage local team AND escalate customer related concerns regarding administrative needs such as ordering, shipping, receiving, pricing etc. Also, maintain managerial awareness of customer successes and challenges, ensuring that there is a Sun solution (competitive barrier) for customer concerns. This includes advanced use of IT solutions (sf.com) for accurate depiction of the state of the customer in all communications internal. Escalation and sense of urgency skills are imperative in identifying when RSM and/or sales professionals must be engaged for commercial matters.

  • Work with CTS representatives and managers as needed to insure best in class product, training and value-added solutions are made available to willing customer partners.


  • Ensure that all Sun employees are working in a safe and accident-free manner pursuant to Sun Chemical training and initiatives.

  • Plan high level training and best in class SOP to support customer objectives. Plan the pursuit of continuous improvement goals and objectives.

  • Plan travel itinerary to maximize efficiency of time and coverage of operations within scope of responsibility. Meet budgetary guidelines and directives.

  • This position requires the ability of the incumbent to manage and report time and attendance, vacation coverage, and appropriate expenses for individual sites; to contribute to wise business decisions via auditing functions around investment of Sun Chemical funds for customer CAR/White Paper exercises.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 60% for customer's site location.

  • Must have 10 - 15 years of industry experience

  • Must possess both strong verbal and written communication skills. This is a position that requires a higher degree of interpersonal skill to be successful.

  • Strong written communication skills are required.
