Manager, Radiation Therapy

Summa Health - Akron City Campus

Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days

Summary:
Responsible for efficient operation and technical leadership of all radiation oncology therapists within the Summa Health System. Coordinates and balances therapy workload while providing direction and guidance to the radiation therapy team. Efficiently coordinates and monitors the daily operations; anticipates and resolves issues and problems. Participates in the daily staffing complement and performs simulation and treatment procedures for therapeutic treatments in the delivery of patient care. Helps to coordinate and facilitate the schedule of physicians, patients and therapists for daily treatment. Responsible to assist in establishing quality metrics; track and report metrics monthly, preparing and reporting results to designated committees on a quarterly basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
b. Bachelor's Degree.
c. Currently state-licensed and a Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

2. Experience & Training Required:
a. Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in Radiation Therapy.
b. BLS certification

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Proven ability to direct the work efforts of others.
b. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with patients, employees and physicians.
c. Ability to work well within a team environment
d. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
e. Proven ability to develop and assess staff competencies; and develop ongoing programming for staff.
f. Proven ability to develop and implement PI measures with clinical metrics.
g. Proven ability to assess and develop departmental policies and procedures.
h. Ability to effectively solve problems independently.
i. Ability to effectively interact with patient/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Heavy - Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force
frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move object.

$54.76/hr - $82.14/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers.
