Job Description

Position is responsible for leading and performing the maintenance of the quality software applications and processes, development and implementation of new processes to achieve evolving business objectives, and implementation of data and analytics methodologies in support of the business and sites. Position will be responsible for evaluating the viability of implementing the quality system across the organization and leading the integration activities at facilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop staff, including initiating recruitment and retention
  • Provide facility support resources for all quality software user activities
  • Manage quality software supplier relationship and while implementing/upgrading quality software modules
  • Lead quality data and analytics initiatives to develop and gather actionable metrics to support the business functions
  • Integrate quality software modules/reports for newly acquired locations
  • Develop test plans for quality software upgrades
  • Work with Supplier Quality to develop improved electronic process for Supplier Ratings and PPAP systems
  • Develop and maintain revision control for work instructions relating to software processes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be a self-motivated leader who can manage and complete a wide array of projects on time and gain results through others. A strong understanding of the business needs is necessary such that timely completion of each project is achieved.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize, and lead through the application project management principles
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to all levels of the organization
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterpriseone (or equivalent ERP application)
  • Experience with IQS Trubox (or other integrated quality application)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Fundamental understanding of quality systems, methods, tools and standards
  • Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis methods

Position Discretion, Authority and Independent Judgment

1) Describe the decisions and independent judgments made by incumbents in this position.
  • Incumbent will determine approach for basic software implementation activities and support policy deployment for QMS software. Position will decide security-related access for all technical applications within the QMS software.


2) Describe the decisions made by incumbents in this position that are based on defined processes or parameters (i.e., pricing matrix). Please attach copies of any applicable decision templates or procedures.
  • Security-related decisions will be made based on the Segregation of Duties Matrix (which is managed through the IT organization). Note: many of the security-related decisions for the technical staff do not involve advanced requirements.


3) Describe how the discretionary decisions and independent judgments affect operating income or other matters of significance.
  • Decisions affect reporting and compliance to government standards. Implementation of electronic processes could potentially reduce head count and increase efficiency.


4) Describe the recommendations made by the incumbents in this position. Who reviews the recommendations and what are the general outcomes of those recommendations?
  • Recommendations will encompass QMS software and data analytic methodologies reviewed by the Director, Quality


5) Describe whether the current independent discretion, decision making and authority will become more or less prevalent in the future (i.e., expected centralization/decentralization).
  • The independent discretion and decision making is anticipated to remain constant or increase slightly with more experience in the role.
