Who We AreJoin our team and receive an $8,000 sign-on bonus!Maritime Operations, part of Mission Technologies-Global Security-Nuclear & Environmental Services, is seeking a Construction Integration Manager for the Virginia Class Submarine program in Newport News, VA. This role supports Newport News Shipbuilding's new construction efforts and plays a key part in aligning construction and testing priorities for submarines under build.
The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and project management abilities, as they will coordinate construction and test activities across assigned areas, drive resolution of integration challenges, and ensure timely turnover of ship systems to the customer. The position also works closely with a broad set of stakeholders to develop and maintain a resource-loaded, integrated ship delivery schedule-from early construction phases through final delivery to the U.S. Navy.
What You Will Do- Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between program management and planning, project team, line management, test organizations, and the customer.
- Review status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Responsible for developing mechanisms to monitor project progress and intervene and solve problems with project managers, line managers, and customers.
What You Must Have- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- Candidate must have extensive years of supervisory experience.
- Candidate must have extensive years of project management experience.
- Candidate must have active-duty US Navy submarine operational and/or shipyard experience to include Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant qualifications and experience.
- Candidate must have a strong technical knowledge of propulsion and non-propulsions submarine systems operation and intersystem interaction.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
Bonus Points For Having!- Active-duty service on Virginia Class Submarines is preferred.
- Previous Navy qualifications as Ship's Duty Officer highly desired.
- Project Management Professional certification.
- Shipyard submarine new construction and/or propulsion plant testing experience.
Physical RequirementsJob performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
