Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Aircraft Prototype Systems Division at NAS Pax River. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other team members.

This is an SCA-covered position subject to the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act. Compensation and fringe benefits will comply with the applicable DOL Wage Determination for this contract and location.

Salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skill set, while also considering internal equity and market competitiveness.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
  • Act as local on-site representative to customer's organization.
  • Perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects, or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently.
  • Review, analyze, develop, prepare, andor apply engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures.
  • Organize, analyze, and prepare reports or presentation of technical data and information.
  • Plan and perform tests and evaluations on systems, equipment, or components.
  • Compile, process, reduce, and analyze test data and results.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level technicians
  • Perform fabrication, installation and operational support of instrumentation systems and wiring harnesses on various aircraft and test articles.
  • Fabricate the instrumentation systems and wiring harnesses including installation and performs pre-flight and post-flight operational checks on instrumentation systems prior to and following test flights.
  • Provide support during aircraft measurement calibrations as required.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Instrumentation.
  • Active Secret Clearance

LEVEL 2 - 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 3 - 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

LEVEL 4 - 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
