Summary

This position provides leadership in the organization or functional area and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project. The position requires the application of knowledge gained from experience and expertise to the job duties and responsibilities. The position will make decisions in areas that may impact the organization and its employees, clients, budgets, policies, procedures, work practices, or compliance programs.

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure best practices by implementing and sustaining Operations and Maintenance (O&M) best practices and systems including reliability, plant, and maintenance engineering, planning and scheduling, materials management, and change management
  • Responsible for managing the work to the terms of the contract by eliminating leakage and optimizing returns
  • Promote multi-discipline applications by understanding industry specific project planning/scheduling technologies, maintenance engineering and project control systems
  • Support operations by performing project execution, quality, and schedule compliance activities on multiple projects
  • Improve service quality by developing preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Reduce operational costs by planning and scheduling activities around routine maintenance, preventative/predictive maintenance, and shutdown/turnaround/outage
  • Improve plant operational optimization by participating in project alignments with plant operations personnel (from hourly workforce through plant manager level)
  • Develop business opportunities by assessing client financial and operational capabilities and suggesting revisions to operational work methods
  • Establish marketing plan by developing project business model and pricing strategies
  • Fulfill contract and Operating System Requirements (OSR)/Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) requirements by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of the project contract are clearly defined, documented, and followed by the Fluor team
  • Achieve business goals by hiring qualified candidates, communicating job expectations; approving performance appraisals; conducting salary administration, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees
  • Enhance skills, performance and development of all employees by sponsoring and promoting training programs so that adherence to specifications is ensured and work of the highest quality prevails
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following established project procedures relating to safety, work permitting and work order systems; adhering to legal requirements
  • Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities ,and timely performance feedback
  • Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across all business lines, functions, and locations
  • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
  • May need to travel to attend to business related matters
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned


Typical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years* of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Working Conditions

  • Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
  • Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities which may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels


Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited degree or global equivalent in engineering or business or equivalent work experience, with eight (8) years of operations, maintenance engineering, and/or applied home o 2ffice experience
  • Possesses comprehensive understanding of plant operations and expert in at least one area of plant operations and/or maintenance technology
  • Client side and international assignment experience preferred
