Responsibilities

The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Qualifications

Basic Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for the 24 hour management of the assigned unit assuring patient care meets the standard of care.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years acute medical, surgical, neurology, and telemetry clinical experience required and a minimum of two (2) years progressive management experience required.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or Compact. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider
    courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. Specialty certification preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
