Full Job Description
The successful National Account Manager will be responsible for increasing sales within well-established National Key Accounts. This position will also be responsible for creating, developing and driving sales within the following target markets: bakery/produce/meat processing, industrial and technical packaging and safety equipment.

In addition to serving as a business development partner, incumbent will build customer relationships, handle customer complaints and inquiries, manage Accounts Receivables, and effectively communicate with all appropriate internal and external departments/personnel.

The ideal candidate should reside in the Kansas City area.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain key accounts and continue working to grow new business
  • Prospect new business within the processor business segment
  • Develop an account strategy to grow business and prepare reports of business transactions
  • Ability to coordinate sales efforts in the key account base, with existing outside sales force
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate and cooperate in a productive manner with all departments
  • Utilize all appropriate VIP (Dimensions of Professional Selling) techniques and methodologies
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education and training; bachelor's in professional Selling, Marketing or Business is a plus
  • Sales experience in the food/meat processing and/or kill floor with a focus on plant operating supplies, packaging, personal protection equipment, or related safety items is preferred
  • Proven track record in growing business
  • Must be competitive, driven and self-motivated
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers and outside parties
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to utilize acceptable mathematical skills
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel required
  • Experience with IBM I-Series/AS400 operating system highly desired
  • Significant travel is required; be willing to travel nationally to multiple locations as needed
