BAE Systems is hiring a manager to oversee the operations for both the Acquisition & Integrated Logistics Support (A&ILS) departments as we continue to provide outstanding support our on AEGIS Technical Representative (TECHREP) Program. As the technical representative, BAE Systems provides on-site direction, oversight, and support that validates the total AEGIS weapon and combat system design. Our highly qualified and experienced onsite BAE Systems Team offers over 160 years of composite experience in the tools and processes necessary to execute timely AEGIS TECHREP acquisition and production core functions. We align to the Systems Acquisition Division areas of responsibility and AWS equipment requirements from manufacturing, through production test and acceptance, to shipyard delivery.

This role is multi-disciplinary, therefore the breakdown of each area is as follows:
Acquisition & Production provides embedded expertise to extend the command's ability to manage production activities. The team evaluates/monitors/reports Prime Contractor's (PC) Production Program operations for AEGIS TECHREP (ATR). BAE Systems engineers embedded in PC's work centers provide direct, timely, first-hand knowledge and observations to ATR Manufacturing Operations and Production Test Center (PTC) / Backfit Program Test Facilities (BPTF).
Managing a Team with the following key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Witness equipment integration tests including Factory Acceptance test (FAT), reviews classified test data and test results
  • Monitors production schedules, delays, recovery plans, corrective actions
  • Responsible for/manage all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) during installation, test, pack and ship operations
  • Conduct technical assessments, supplier identification acquisition management and technical evaluation of vendor fabrication, assembly, test, and acceptance processes
  • Participate in AEGIS TECHREP production Program Performance Assessments Reviews (PAR)
  • Participate in AEGIS program reviews and meetings with the customer and sponsor as required
  • Manage a team responsible for conducting technical and programmatic reviews of manufacturing schedules

Integrated Logistics Support ensures Mission Capability & Mission Readiness across a broad range of customers across the United States Navy, Missile Defense Agency, and Allied Partners. BAE Systems provides technical support as related to the total areas of asset management, material management, operation and maintenance technical documentation, Government Furnished Computer Programs (GFCP) and Government Furnished Information (GFI), provisioning and maintenance planning, packaging, handling, shipping and transportation, sustainment engineering, supply support, and Configuration Management. Logisticians integrate the spectrum of the logistics processes within the operational, acquisition and wholesale environments. Logisticians are responsible for directing the integrated logistics process, developing support policies, procedures and systems, and providing implementation guidance. The Logistician prepares and implements directives to ensure effective logistics support, and establishes and enforces standards to ensure that the assigned work force is properly trained and equipped. It is the Logistician's duty to develop, initiate, integrate and manage all logistics actions associated with life cycle management of weapon systems, subsystems and equipment.
  • Managing a Team with the following key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Provide full integrated support to our NA4 customer
  • Attend, participate and support meetings with and for our Customers, contractors
  • Provide GFE Support to Production Surveillance and Production Test Center (PTC)
  • Check-in, register and monitor all Government-Furnished Computer Programs
  • Provide urgent CASREP Support to the Fleet
  • Provide Site and Fleet Support for parts research, MILSTRIP, parts support and ad hoc inquiries
  • Provide Shipyard Support during Installation and Checkout (AEGIS Light Off) and during Sea Trial
  • Provide Logistic Support to our FMS Allies
  • Provide AGILE 'Operations and Maintenance' Technical Documentation Verification, Validation, and Releasability
  • Provide CSEDS Site Engineering to Ensure Operational Availability of the labs for testing inclusive of facilities management and configuration management.

To be successful, the candidate must be skilled in both technical and business processes that enable effective program structuring and execution, have keen financial acumen, and exhibit leadership behaviors that enable effective planning, monitoring, and control. The ability to communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and lead in a visible and proactive manner is an imperative aspect of the role, and will be evaluated equally alongside specific, applied experiences. Experience with resource allocation processes is required. The ideal candidate will be highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, and able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment.
Overall key roles and responsibilities include:
  • Supporting new business capture and proposal activities
  • Functional management over the A&ILS teams
  • Leading the planning and execution of task planning activities;
  • Serving as one of the primary interfaces between executive/senior level customers and the BAE Systems program organization, facilitating a successful partnership and approach to contract execution and financial salient performance;
  • Collaborating with business and program leaders to identify opportunities for synergy and operational agility


Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor degree (BS/BA) in a related engineering or logistics field, or a minimum of 20 years of experience of in-depth specialized knowledge in the related field.
  • Minimum >10 years' experience with DoD/DON programs, Industry or Government technical management, and Industry or Government business management. Minimum of 15 years' supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience with the AEGIS Program in Production and/or Logistics
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret DoD security clearance
  • Experience in engaging with clients to capture and prioritize business needs
  • Experience with reporting and tracking requirements
  • Experience managing personnel
  • Documented experience with presenting material to senior division and program leadership and other government officials
  • Proven experience with analyzing business process or SOP documentation to identify areas of improvement and efficiency
  • Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-motivated team player
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
