Job Overview

About the role

As the Mgr I Supply Chain at TE Connectivity, you will lead a critical plant-level supply chain function that supports operational continuity, inventory performance, and customer delivery commitments. This is a highly visible, forward-facing leadership role responsible for connecting planning, material flow, warehouse activity, shipping execution, and supplier follow-up to the broader needs of the site and central teams. You will help shape and drive the plant's long-term supply chain strategy, ensuring the right components are available to keep production lines running while maintaining strong alignment with reporting expectations, business priorities, and operational risk management. The role requires a dynamic, take-charge leader who brings strong ownership, can work proactively without waiting for direction, and is comfortable representing the plant in regular cross-functional discussions. You will play an important part in identifying gaps, communicating risks and opportunities, and leading a team that supports core supply chain processes across intake, kitting, scheduling, warehouse, and shipping activities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through leadership, problem solving, and disciplined execution in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the plant's supply chain activities across incoming materials, inventory management, kitting, warehouse operations, and shipping coordination to support uninterrupted production and effective material flow.
  • Own and drive supply chain reporting, including monthly updates, gap reporting, and explanations of variances related to supply, inventory, and business performance.
  • Represent the plant in multiple recurring meetings each week, speaking to billings, revenue-related supply impacts, opportunities, risks, and line exposure with clarity and confidence.
  • Partner closely with operations, planning, and central teams to ensure the supply chain strategy is aligned to plant needs and that material availability supports production requirements.
  • Proactively identify supply risks, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce disruptions and strengthen overall execution.
  • Manage local supplier follow-up as needed, ensuring timely communication, escalation, and action to address shortages, delays, or other issues affecting plant performance.
  • Provide leadership to the team responsible for planning and related supply chain execution areas, helping set direction, build accountability, and improve day-to-day performance.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated success in a manufacturing supply chain leadership role with experience balancing operational urgency, reporting discipline, and cross-functional coordination.
  • A dynamic and proactive leadership style, with the confidence to take ownership, drive action independently, and operate effectively in a highly visible role.
  • Strong executive-facing and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to clearly present status, risks, gaps, and recovery plans in routine business meetings.
  • Experience leading teams and helping develop others, with a clear focus on accountability, engagement, and elevating overall department performance.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, including the ability to identify root causes, assess business impact, and implement practical solutions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfort working in a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, including interaction with plant leadership, central teams, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining sound judgment, responsiveness, and a strong sense of ownership for plant supply chain outcomes.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience in supply chain, materials, planning, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with inventory management, supply management, and plant-level material coordination in a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP; experience using ERP systems for supply chain visibility, reporting, and execution is essential.
  • Experience with structured reporting and performance review processes, including preparing updates, gap explanations, and operational summaries.
  • Background leading or supporting functions such as demand planning, master scheduling, sourcing coordination, warehouse operations, or shipping is strongly valued.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate supply chain data into actions that protect service, reduce risk, and support plant performance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and plant teams in an on-site manufacturing environment.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to step into a complex role quickly, prioritize effectively, and lead with urgency and accountability.
