Job DescriptionBAE Systems Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business is seeking a Quality Manager I to lead our Manufacturing Quality Engineering, In-Process and Final Inspection personnel. The position will support the ACM (Advanced Composite Manufacturing) facility and the Sustainment Center both located on the Merrimack Campus in Merrimack, NH. The position will support all product lines within the Electronic Combat Solutions business Area.
Responsibilities shall include, but not limited to, ensuring customer contract requirements are met, quality assurance, continuous process improvement, and lifecycle management. The role will be involved in providing functional leadership. The individual will work closely with the Program Management Office, Supplier Quality and local leadership teams along with other critical functions to provide world class program execution. Additionally, support corrective actions using quality science tools via 8D methodology.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of an in-person work format, with travel to other locations as required. In this role, you will:
- Provide subject matter expertise and quality control support to the ACM (Advanced Composite Manufacturing) and Sustainment Center with focus on Manufacturing Quality Engineering support and inspection.
- Lead a focus team of manufacturing quality engineers and inspectors as their direct supervisor.
- Utilize quality control data to lead innovative improvements toward cost of poor quality (CoPQ) and process efficiency, without compromising product integrity.
- Reinforce compliance with the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) by supporting audits and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 8+ years of experience
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a quality assurance role
- Proficiency in developing corrective action responses (RCCA/CAPA/8D)
- Ability to read and interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, component specifications, standards, and process sheets
Preferred Skills and Education- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a quality assurance role.
- Experience leading teams as a people manager committed to a culture of development and teamwork.
- Experience tracking factory hardware and documenting non-conformances in Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems auditing procedures and continuous improvement activities.
- Identification, control, and disposition of discrepant material through Preliminary Material Review (PMR) and/or Material Review Board (MRB)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Understanding of engineering drawing dimensions and tolerances (ANSI 14.5 GD&T)
- Ability to extract data for visual presentations (using charts, tables, paretos, etc.) to effectively communicate positions, issues or to drive actions.
