Manages a staff of technicians, at a district level, to provide safe and reliable vehicles, heavy truck, heavy equipment, and ground support equipment (GSE). Ensures that the district fleet meets both corporate and regulatory standards for appearance and operating conditions, while ensuring that fleet needs are satisfied on a timely basis in a cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions - Maintains a state of safe and efficient operations in compliance with all FedEx policies and procedures and Federal, State, and local laws.
- Coordinates the business planning, operations analysis, and cost control for the district.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum EducationAssociate's degree/equivalent.
Minimum ExperienceFive (5) years experience in preventative maintenance operations on automotive, heavy truck, or heavy equipment plus one (1) year of supervisory/ management experience in the last five (5) years.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of troubleshooting and diagnosing automotive, heavy truck, and heavy equipment problems. Basic management skills. Good organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in operation a personal computer and in using current technology and software applications.

Additional Details: The desired location for this position would be Chicago, IL. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week
