Summary

This role will own the payment stream of the company's digital strategy, including development, and execution of solutions tailored to retail, small business and commercial banking clients. BCU is building its Business Services and Payments offering and would like this person to be the main driver and will be accountable on the team for developing a digital payments strategy and roadmap that aligns with it. This person will be key in identifying select features and solutions in digital banking platform, that match those business goals while working within the digital banking platform on selection, customization and configuration that drives growth and adoption.

Role and Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap
  1. Define and manage the digital payment product vision, roadmap, and strategy for small business and commercial banking and retail payments, with emphasis on the latter.
  2. Evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, and customer insights to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements.
  3. Collaborate and execute on requirements from various stakeholders including our Treasury Management, Risk Management, and Payment Operations teams.


Digital Banking Solutions
  1. Oversee the design and delivery of digital tools for business accounts, including onboarding, account management, bill pay, ACH/wire, merchant services, and real-time payments.
  2. Partner with internal teams and vendors to integrate business-focused digital capabilities such as invoicing, expense management, and payment acceptance.


Payments Innovation
  1. Manage and optimize payment-related products, including ACH, wire, card-based solutions, mobile payments, and emerging faster payment technologies (RTP, FedNow, Zelle for business).
  2. Ensure compliance, security, and seamless user experience in all payment processes.


Cross-FunctionalCollaboration
  1. Work closely with technology, operations, risk/compliance, deposits, and business banking teams to deliver end-to-end digital solutions.
  2. Partner with various vendors in managing our array of existing technology solutions, as well as driving future partnerships and conversations around emerging new tech providers.


Performance & Insights
  1. Define success metrics, monitor performance, and leverage analytics to drive adoption and continuous improvement.
  2. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate digital partners to ensure product quality and scalability.


Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or have commensurate experience in a similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital product management, preferably within banking, fintech, or financial services.
  • Direct experience with small business/commercial digital banking products and payment solutions preferred (ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, merchant services, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of digital banking platforms, APIs, and integration with third-party providers.
  • Demonstrated success in managing the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch to optimization.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred:
  • Experience working in or with credit unions, community banks, or regional banks.
  • Experience managing or working with common banking platforms such as Jack Henry / Symitar, Lumin Digital (or similar), and onboarding solutions specific to small business.
  • Familiarity with compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements affecting business payments.
  • Background in UX/UI collaboration to deliver intuitive digital experiences.
