Full Job Description
Role Summary:

The Metrology Process Engineer opportunity is in a high-volume semiconductor wafer manufacturing environment. The position requires ownership and responsibility for the control, development and optimization of Metrology processes and equipment. Prior experience on Metrology platforms is a must-have requirement.

This position will perform a variety of complex process and sustaining engineering duties in a wafer processing factory. The candidate must have a thorough technical understanding of various metrology tools. The position will interface with engineering and production personnel from all factory areas, as well as interfacing with equipment manufacturers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; investigating, analyzing and resolving process and process and equipment related problems and/or issues; provide training for engineering and manufacturing personnel; The position will conduct experiments to improve processes; work with other areas developing new measurement strategies, initiate and review specification changes. Experience in problem solving methods and statistical methods is preferred.

Job Responsibility:
  • Develop and lead projects to help optimize Quality (yield improvement & defect reduction), Delivery (MTBF, MTTR, qual optimizations, capacity qualifications, cycle time reductions), and Cost (process optimization, chemical usage qualification & consumption reduction).
  • Lead activities with engineering, production, device and support organizations in a high-volume semiconductor wafer manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in fab-to-fab standardization & benchmarking activities related to: tool-to-tool matching, scrap reduction, defect reduction, cost reduction, as well as throughput improvement projects.
  • New part & technology introductions.
  • Tool installation and startup qualifications.
  • Implementation of Six-Sigma statistical process control methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to an advanced level, often dealing with new complex issues.
  • Solid knowledge of process control, sampling optimization, data analysis and interpretation required.


Job Qualification:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Science).
  • 5-10 years of experience in related fields.
  • Collaborative skills for working efficiently in a team having worldwide connections with partners and users.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across various levels of the company.
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and willing to learn with good discipline, and process statistical control capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
