If you are looking to work on complex transactions with corporate and private equity clients, this role offers the opportunity to support finance integration and separation efforts that help organizations execute deals and capture value. As a Senior Consultant in M&A Finance & Operations (M&A Finance), you will work across finance, accounting, and treasury priorities while helping clients address critical operational and reporting needs throughout the transaction lifecycle. Recruiting for this role ends on 9/30/2026. **Work You'll Do** As a Senior Consultant, M&A Finance on the M&A Integration & Divestiture team, you will be responsible for supporting clients through finance integration and separation activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. M&A Finance advises, implements, and delivers transformative solutions to clients to optimize their finance, accounting, and treasury activities due to a pending/completed transaction, restructuring and strategic cost transformation event. You will also: - Support finance workstreams across M&A engagements, including Day 1 readiness, integration planning, separation planning, and post-close execution - Analyze finance, accounting, and treasury processes to identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities tied to transaction objectives - Develop workplans, track deliverables, and coordinate activities across client stakeholders and cross-functional workstreams - Prepare analyses, presentations, and client-ready deliverables related to close and consolidation, planning and forecasting, controls, compliance, and finance operating model considerations - Support Managers and engagement teams in evaluating options, synthesizing findings, and communicating recommendations to corporate and private equity clients A successful candidate would possess these skills: - Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team - Effective written and verbal communication skills - Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product - Ability to build and sustain professional relationships - Ability to lead projects or workstreams - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor - Ability to meet deadlines - Ability to provide clear guidance to others **The Team** M&A advises corporate and PE clients across inorganic growth/divestiture scenarios through M&A strategy, diligence, integration/separation planning and execution, financial and modeling services, and transaction financing. The M&A Integration & Divestiture, Finance & Operations team supports CFOs and finance organizations through finance integration and separation activities tied to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. The team advises on Day 1 readiness, close and consolidation, finance operating model design, planning and forecasting, treasury, controls and compliance, and transition planning to help clients capture deal value and manage execution risk. The team provides subject matter knowledge and expertise across critical components of accounting, finance, and treasury. **Qualifications** Required: - Bachelor's degree - 4+ years of consulting and/or industry experience; or Master of Business Administration (MBA) and 2+ years of work experience - 4+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions or mergers and acquisitions service delivery, including Day 1 planning, policy, process, and systems alignment, financial consolidation and reporting, integration or separation planning, carving-out financials, business plan development, scope definition, work plan development, workstream coordination, lifecycle execution across due diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration, or synergy/value quantification - 4+ years experience assisting in leading workstreams within M&A engagements related to financial close and reporting, planning and forecasting, finance operations, controls and compliance, treasury, and tax coordination - 3+ years of experience in M&A I&D or M&A I&D service delivery within the finance function - 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, controllership, financial planning and analysis, treasury, or financial reporting - Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve - Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Preferred: - Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or other advanced degree - Experience working in a professional services consulting firm - Experience developing executive presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint and process documentation in Microsoft Visio - Experience supporting communications, culture, or change management activities in mergers and acquisitions integrations or separations - Experience performing financial analysis, business process reengineering, or operational performance improvement analysis - Experience mentoring junior practitioners The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $128,000 to $252,500.
