MEP Specialist - Washington D.C.Who We\'re Looking For: We\'re seeking a motivated MEP Specialist with field and office experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction.
The right candidate will support our Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) department while leveraging hands-on field experience and estimating knowledge to contribute across project execution. This role requires a professional who can balance multiple responsibilities, including site inspections, quality verification, coordination with field teams, and supporting pre-construction estimating efforts. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for construction excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to seamlessly support project teams in both office and field environments.
What You\'ll Do: Our new MEP Specialist will be responsible for ensuring quality standards are met across MEP systems while collaborating with project teams to drive efficiency and accuracy. A day in the life of this role may include:
- Conducting field inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to verify compliance with design specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Documenting QA/QC observations and coordinating corrective actions with project teams.
- Supporting project teams with scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, and ensuring proper installation practices.
- Assisting in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation for MEP systems.
- Collaborating with estimating teams to provide technical insight, quantity takeoffs, and review of MEP scopes for cost analysis.
- Helping identify potential cost or scheduling impacts based on field conditions and assisting with mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining accurate records in Procore, Bluebeam, Sage 300, or similar construction management platforms.
What You Bring To The Table: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEP construction, including field supervision and/or estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction drawings, and QA/QC procedures.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Sage 300, or similar.
- Organized with excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Well versed in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors, designers, and clients.
- Flexibility to perform both field inspections and office-based estimating support.
- Some travel to project sites may be required depending on business needs.
What We Offer: - Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience.
