Full Job Description
Job Duties & Requirements:
  • Lead and manage mechanical quality control processes in accordance with project specifications and federal requirements
  • Coordinate and support commissioning activities across all MEP systems from pre-functional testing through final acceptance
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and equipment documentation for compliance with contract requirements
  • Develop and track QC checklists, inspection reports, and deficiency logs
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other commissioning agents
  • Ensure all systems are properly installed, tested, balanced, and documented prior to turnover
  • Participate in pre-installation meetings, commissioning meetings, and owner/agency walkthroughs
  • Assist in developing and maintaining commissioning plans, schedules, and documentation
  • Identify and resolve quality or performance issues proactively in the field
  • Support training and turnover of systems to owners, including O&M manuals and as-built documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, safety, and quality standards

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture with at least 10 years of commissioning experience
  • 7+ years of experience in MEP construction and quality control
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, controls), with familiarity in electrical and plumbing systems
  • Previous experience supporting or leading commissioning efforts on complex projects
  • Experience working on federal or government projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Certifications
  • USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or similar credential
  • LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications a plus
