Location: Uptown, ManhattanSalary: $125-130,000Job Summary:The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes for an affluent NYC client. This role works 5 days a week onsite, Uptown Manhattan ensuring MEP systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, brand standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout for retail buildouts, renovations, and rollouts
- Coordinate MEP design consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams across multiple locations
- Review and manage MEP drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
- Ensure compliance with local and state codes, utility regulations, and client standards
- Manage MEP schedules and sequencing to support fast-track retail construction timelines
- Track budgets, cost reports, change orders, and forecasts related to MEP work
- Conduct virtual coordination meetings and periodic site visits as needed
- Support procurement of long-lead MEP materials and equipment
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, and clients to resolve MEP issues quickly
- Support closeout activities including as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience managing MEP scopes in retail or commercial construction
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems
- Experience with retail rollouts, tenant fit-outs, or multi-site programs preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
