Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an MEP Manager in Atlanta, GA to join our Batson-Cook family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • At the request of the project management team, assist in the coordination of the MEP trades to develop BIM models.
  • At the request of the project management team, assist in the MEP trades coordination for the commissioning of near-complete projects.
  • At the request of the project management team, review MEP proposed change order requests.
  • Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
  • At the request of the project management team, review and verify the MEP subcontractor pay request.
  • Assist in the preconstruction process (e.g., scope review, bid day preparation, and generate schematic/design development budgets).
  • At the request of the project management team, conduct MEP project inspections to ensure quality, contract compliance, percent complete, schedule milestones, etc.
  • Establish, develop, and nurture relationships with key MEP subcontractors with whom we have ongoing work. Develop informal, but professional, partnerships that can be mutually beneficial.
  • At the request of the project management team, review MEP submittal data prior to submission to the design team.
  • At the request of the project management team, assist in the development of a 100-day plan to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy (TCO)
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission, and values.
  • Support VDC in any way possible.
  • Nurture relationships with operations and upper management throughout the company (all locations)
  • When asked by preconstruction, provide bid solicitation assistance for the MEP trades
  • Develop and nurture relationships with vendors and manufacturers in the MEP trades.
  • When asked to do so, assist preconstruction with bid analysis and leveling assistance
  • When asked to do so, provide value engineering ideas to preconstruction and operations
  • The MEP Manager will perform such other special assignments as may be requested by company management. These could be one-time, unique tasks or ongoing assignments.
  • At the request of the project management team, coordinate with MEP trades to get work in place.
  • Conduct pre-inspection testing on vertical risers, electrical closets, MDF/IDF closets, fire alarm, fire pump, load bank test, ATS test, security system, if installed by BCC.
  • If asked to do so, take control of the Fire Command Center (all trades).
  • Pre-test stairway pressurization system.
  • If asked to do so, prepare the initial 100 days to TCO document. Conduct the 100-day meetings if asked to do so.
  • Coordinate work for each floor with the general superintendent and the area superintendent
  • Assist the project management team with temporary and permanent power and temporary ventilation.
  • If asked by the project management team, manage the conditioned air milestones
  • Verify that duct cleanliness procedures are being followed
  • When asked to do so, provide routine inspections of work in place to assure quality
  • When asked to do so, check in-wall rough, overhead rough, above ceiling rough, low voltage coordination, MEP kitchen coordination inspections. Ensure systems are ready
  • If requested, assist in completing and closing out the MEP punch list
  • Work directly with the Cx to identify issues and solutions to issues
  • If asked to do so, support the VDC effort in modeling


Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 5 to 10 years of qualifying experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
