MEP/CX- SUPERINTENDENT

The primary role of the MEP-Cx Superintendent is to lead the planning, coordination, execution and successful delivery of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls and specialty building systems construction and commissioning on complex construction projects. The position provides hands-on technical support and leadership to the project team from design through project handover while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, quality and client expectations.

The MEP-Cx Superintendent serves as the primary technical resource for the project team, collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations staff to ensure engineered systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements. This role proactively identifies project risks, develops solutions, drives successful project outcomes, and develops and enhances customer relationships through excellent service while maintaining McGough's commitment to operational excellence.

The MEP-Cx Superintendent also plays an active role in mentoring junior staff, supporting business development efforts, and advancing company standards and best practices

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in MEP engineering, design, facility management/operations, or construction management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, controls and specialty building systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, installation, operation or construction management of engineered systems for complex projects such as mission critical facilities, semiconductor fabrication plants, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, central power or cooling plants, water/wastewater facilities, advanced manufacturing, and similar technically complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, procurement, commissioning and project controls.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of an organization and convey technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple project tasks concurrently.

Preferred

  • Ability to navigate REVIT and AutoCAD documents, experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Cx Alloy, Revizto and Primavera P6.
  • Experience supporting Design-Build, CMAR, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) projects.
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or similar industry certification.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage pre-construction related tasks
  • Manage and oversee McGough field staff, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and suppliers. This includes conducting daily huddles, weekly work plans, job site coordination and delivery of materials.
  • Manage and implement the project schedule as designed and adjust as necessary. Work closely with project team to ensure schedule remains updated.
  • Work with project team to write RFIs, develop and track procurement of materials and equipment, identify and track MEP related issues to closure.
  • Manage completion of Level 1, 2 and 3 commissioning documentation.
  • Assist in Ready for Energization (RFE) reviews of equipment and systems.
  • Drive a safe environment by leading activities including job safety meetings and orientations. Ensure all OSHA and other required rules and regulations are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with clients, design team and subcontractors.
  • Support and follow standard work
  • Participate and support implementation of Lean and continuous improvement culture
  • Foster strong partnerships with fellow McGough employees

WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL

  • locations: Ellendale, ND., Center, ND., Odessa, TX.
  • This is a traveling position, regular travel to project jobsites is required.
  • Travel requirements will vary depending on project assignments.
  • Ability to work from both office and construction environments.

Employee will be required to visit construction jobsites, which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures. In addition, employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites. This includes climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, walking long distances, and climbing stairs.
