About the RoleThis is a full-stack individual contributor role at a fast-moving AI/ML startup (~20 people) building a
multi-agent simulation engine that predicts how real users respond to digital products - before anything ships. Think of it as replacing guesswork in product decisions with behavioral simulation at scale.
As a
Member of Technical Staff (Full-Stack), you'll own the bridge between complex backend systems - multi-agent simulations, evaluation pipelines - and the frontend experiences customers use to decide what to build next. You'll ship on a bi-weekly cadence and help define engineering best practices as the team scales.
What You'll Do- Core platform: Build and evolve the Python-based platform where customers design experiments, run simulations, explore behavioral outputs, and make product decisions.
- Agent-to-product translation: Turn raw agent behavior into product functionality - bridging "what the system did" and "what the user should do next."
- Observability tooling: Build tooling that makes the simulation system understandable, debuggable, and trustworthy for end users.
- UX definition: Help define how users interact with simulations and surface insights to drive decisions.
- End-to-end ownership: Own features from backend through frontend to user impact; ship iterations bi-weekly and help establish engineering standards as the team grows.
What We're Looking ForRequired- 8+ years of experience building production systems end-to-end across the full stack (backend and frontend)
- Strong proficiency in Python; comfortable building platform-level features for data-intensive, simulation-driven products
- Hands-on experience with agentic or LLM-powered systems, or AI-driven product features
- Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end and ship on short, iterative cycles
- Product engineering mindset - you build for user outcomes, not just technical correctness
- Humility, coachability, and low ego; you take and give feedback openly and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments
- Individual contributor focus - no people-management responsibilities at this stage
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Nice to Have- Experience building internal tooling or complex product workflows
- Background in highly regulated or data-sensitive environments
- Non-traditional or self-taught engineering background - diverse paths are welcome
Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 USD annually
- Equity participation
- Competitive benefits package
LocationThis role is based in
San Francisco, CA (hybrid on-site schedule at SF HQ). Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
