Member of Technical Staff, AI Engineer, you'll be a founding-tier engineer who designs and ships production AI systems from day one, while also prototyping the next generation of fully autonomous AI agents handling real, business-critical insurance operations.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role at a small but rapidly growing team. You'll work closely with AI researchers and business stakeholders to turn cutting-edge research into reliable production systems.
What You'll Do- Design and ship AI-native applications that automate core insurance workflows including quoting, underwriting, and customer service at scale.
- Ensure the reliability, observability, and scalability of AI services running in production.
- Architect and build distributed, scalable backend systems to support rapidly growing operations.
- Prototype and iterate on fully autonomous AI agents that handle end-to-end insurance operations with minimal human intervention.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to model and leverage contextual data to enhance agent capabilities and decision-making.
What We're Looking ForRequired (Dealbreakers)- 2+ years of experience in software or AI engineering.
- Proficiency in Python for building production-grade AI applications, including model integration and tooling.
Required Skills- Frontend experience with React.js to build or integrate UI components for AI-powered features.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and building autonomous AI agents or AI-native products.
- Experience with distributed data processing and streaming systems such as Kafka and Flink.
- Cloud platform experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, SageMaker) for deploying and scaling AI services.
Nice to Have- Experience evaluating agent behavior, safety, and reliability in autonomous AI systems.
- Strong MLOps practices: monitoring, observability, and production ML lifecycle management.
- Strong CS fundamentals.
Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 USD annually
