Full Job Description
Title: Medical Writer III

Location: Plymouth, MN

Duration: 12 Months

100% Onsite

Summary:

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location, supporting our Electrophysiology medical device division. The primary focus of the Senior Medical Writer role will be the development of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. The writer will work closely with internal colleagues, such as clinical scientists and data analysts, to support clinical publication plans.

What You'll Work On:
  • Lead the writing and editing of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to journal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, including clinical scientists and data analysts, to translate findings into high-quality written content.
  • Build, organize, and maintain a shared EndNote reference library to support manuscript development and ensure consistency in citation management.
  • Manage multiple manuscript projects simultaneously, maintaining timelines and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and writing of abstracts for scientific conferences, as needed.
  • Ensure all content complies with relevant editorial, regulatory, and publication standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical writing, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • Proven track record of publishing or contributing to peer-reviewed medical articles.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, medical terminology, and scientific communication.
  • Experience writing for healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, or academic audiences.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences, medicine, or similar discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background or experience in cardiovascular medicine.
  • Familiarity with AMA style and other medical writing standards.
  • Experience with reference management tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
