Work ShiftJob DescriptionRequired Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner candidates must be licensed or eligible, with prior hospital medicine and/or ICU experience preferred.
- Must have a least 6 months of Hospitalist Medicine Experience
- Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing.
- Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date.
- APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
- DHEC and DEA license
Position Highlights:
- 7 on 7 off schedule (7A-7P)
- Inpatient (18 years - death)
- Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline
- Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician
- Documents and bills for direct care provided
- Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
