Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our Medical Surgical nursing department. This role is responsible for delivering and directing safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process. The Nurse Manager oversees clinical and administrative operations, ensures staff competency, fosters a culture of collaboration, and drives quality outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily operations and staff within the nursing unit
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
- Serve as a clinical leader and resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence
- Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate staff performance
- Develop and maintain department budget, staffing levels, and resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians
- Actively support employee growth, performance recognition, and disciplinary processes when needed
- Participate in community outreach and organizational representation as assigned
Qualifications:- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current RN license in the state of Wisconsin
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in the department specialty
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) as applicable to department
