Description:

The role of the Emergency Room Social Worker is to provide discharge planning for patients admitted to the emergency department. The social worker is a member of the interdisciplinary team. The social worker conducts clinical social work assessments and provides a range of services such as crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, information and referrals. The social worker is also responsible for facilitating psychiatric transfers for those patients who are in the emergency room and in need of psychiatric hospitalization. Furthermore, the Emergency Room Social Worker sees referrals from the pediatric emergency room.

This is a full-time day/evening shift position 10:00am-10:00pm, 12-hour shifts, 13 shifts per month (about 3 days/week) including some weekends and holidays located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:
  • At least one year of experience in an acute care setting - ED/CPEP/Inpatient Psychiatry/Inpatient Medical/Surgical Expereince.
  • Discharge planning experience
  • Experience with Epic and Allscripts

NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range:

$44.16-$53.81/Hourly
