Your Opportunity:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT I), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services in both General Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT) within a fast-paced urgent care environment. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to maintain and strengthen skills across modalities, supporting skill diversification and professional growth, while working in a collaborative, patient-focused team. Based at the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre, you will contribute to timely patient diagnosis and care in a high-volume setting. Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre is a busy urban urgent care site where Diagnostic Imaging is integral to patient flow and clinical decision-making. This role is ideal for technologists who thrive in dynamic environments, value variety in their practice, and are motivated to expand their clinical expertise by gaining exposure to a broad range of clinical cases in a high-acuity urgent care setting. This position requires flexibility to meet operational requirements, including cross-modality coverage. You will be supported through orientation and ongoing development to ensure success in both modalities, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated competency in general radiography. CT competency or willingness to obtain within an established timeframe. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience in both X-ray and CT. Experience in urgent care or acute care environments. Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and Connect Care. Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to cross-modality practice. Completion of CT Imaging Certification (CTIC).
