This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.

The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join a leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney to develop expertise in a growing practice area while working alongside accomplished partners and legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of medical malpractice and healthcare defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Take and defend depositions, appear in court, and participate in all phases of litigation.
  • Develop litigation strategy in partnership with experienced attorneys and firm leadership.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other substantive legal filings.
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare clients by providing strategic counsel and regular case updates.
  • Work on complex and high-profile healthcare litigation, including a significant docket of COVID-related claims and other emerging liability matters.

Qualifications
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Must be admitted to practice in NY
  • 2+ years of litigation experience; medical malpractice or healthcare litigation experience is a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments clearly and concisely.

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range:

$140,000-$190,000 USD
