SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Medical Laboratory Science Program director is responsible for organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, directing other program faculty/staff, and general effectiveness of the MLS program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master's Degree required
  • Holds ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist
  • Three (3) years' experience in a CLIA certified clinical/medical diagnostic laboratory
  • Three (3) years' teaching experience (bench teaching or program level teaching)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Has knowledge of education methods and NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures]
  • Has participated in NAACLS accreditation process (as educator in NAACLS-accredited program, site visitor, self-study paper reviewer, etc.)
