Medical DirectorLocation: Seattle, WA (hybrid)
Type: Full-time
Compensation: $180k-200k, plus competitive equity package
The RoleThis is not a traditional Medical Director role - and not even a traditional digital-health one. We're looking for a physician-leader who can operate like a founder: strategic, hands-on, and energized by building a new model of care, and a new evidence base, from the ground up.
You will own the clinical strategy, operating model, and standard of care for our virtual clinic. In the early days, that means getting deep into the work: building workflows, supervising the clinical team, reviewing care processes, and seeing patients when needed. Over time, you'll develop and oversee the clinical leadership structure beneath you.
Just as important, you'll be an impactful clinical voice in the intelligence we're building beneath the clinic. You'll help shape what our models learn to recognize, translate the signals they surface into clinical action, and define new standards of care around early physiological change that has never been actionable before. You'll sit at the intersection of medicine and technology, and help define what proactive care looks like when the system can move before disease does.
What You'll OwnTHE CLINIC- Lead the clinical vision, strategy, and care model for the virtual clinic.
- Build scalable workflows for patient onboarding, monitoring, escalation, documentation, follow-up, and care management.
- Supervise and support providers, nurses, care managers, and care navigators; hire, train, and develop the clinical team.
- Develop clinical protocols and standards of care for remote monitoring and chronic disease management.
- Provide clinical oversight for compliance, supervision, scope of practice, patient safety, and escalation pathways.
- Support documentation standards for Medicare care-management and monitoring programs (RPM, CCM, PIN, CHI, BHI) and E/M visits.
- Own clinical quality, patient-outcome, and payer-evaluation goals.
THE PLATFORM & THE SCIENCE- Partner with the AI and product teams to make our models clinically useful, actionable, and trustworthy at the point of care.
- Help define the clinical signals, endpoints, and physiological patterns our models learn to recognize.
- Shape new standards of care around early detection - acting on physiological drift before it becomes an emergency - and the workflows that turn signal into action.
- Analyze clinical and model-performance data; help design validation studies and author the work that builds the evidence base.
- Serve as a strategic clinical partner to leadership on growth, payer strategy, value-based care, and long-term platform design.
Who You Are- MD with an active U.S. medical license and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
- Background in internal medicine, family medicine, primary care, geriatrics, or another chronic-disease-focused specialty.
- Deep understanding of chronic disease management, preventive and longitudinal care, and care-management programs.
- Experience leading or supervising clinical teams - providers, nurses, care managers, or care navigators.
- A builder: proven ability to create workflows, protocols, documentation standards, escalation pathways, and quality and outcome-improvement programs from scratch.
- Genuine excitement for the intersection of medicine, data, and machine learning - comfort interpreting model outputs and helping shape what a model learns.
- A research and publication orientation, and the ambition to help define a new category of care.
- Comfort in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where the model, the clinic, and the standard of care are all still being built.
- Willingness to be hands-on in day-to-day clinical operations, not just provide high-level oversight.
- Strong communicator who works fluidly across clinical, operations, product, payer, and leadership teams.
- Startup, virtual care, RPM/CCM, or value-based care experience is a strong plus.
If you want to help define what medicine looks like when prevention finally scales, this is the seat.
