Medical Director, Addiction Medicine & Fellowship Program Director

Flushing Hospital Medical Center -Flushing, Queens, NY

As Medical Director, you will oversee clinical operations of the detoxification service while leading fellowship education and collaborating with our expanding psychiatric services, including a new 30-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership
  • Provide medical oversight and direction for the medically managed detoxification unit.
  • Ensure safe, effective, evidence-based addiction treatment services.
  • Promote excellence in patient care, compliance, quality, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Behavioral Health, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine.

Fellowship Leadership
  • Serve as Program Director for the ACGME-accredited Addiction Medicine Fellowship.
  • Lead curriculum development, resident and fellow education, mentoring, supervision, and program administration.
  • Foster an environment of academic excellence and professional development.

Quality Improvement & Research
  • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Support and engage in clinical research and scholarly activities.
  • Advance best practices in addiction medicine through innovation and outcomes-focused care.

Patient Care
  • Maintain a limited clinical practice with a balanced allocation of administrative, educational, and clinical responsibilities.
