Medical Director, Addiction Medicine & Fellowship Program DirectorFlushing Hospital Medical Center -Flushing, Queens, NY
As Medical Director, you will oversee clinical operations of the detoxification service while leading fellowship education and collaborating with our expanding psychiatric services, including a new 30-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).
What You'll Do Clinical Leadership
- Provide medical oversight and direction for the medically managed detoxification unit.
- Ensure safe, effective, evidence-based addiction treatment services.
- Promote excellence in patient care, compliance, quality, and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Behavioral Health, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine.
Fellowship Leadership
- Serve as Program Director for the ACGME-accredited Addiction Medicine Fellowship.
- Lead curriculum development, resident and fellow education, mentoring, supervision, and program administration.
- Foster an environment of academic excellence and professional development.
Quality Improvement & Research
- Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
- Support and engage in clinical research and scholarly activities.
- Advance best practices in addiction medicine through innovation and outcomes-focused care.
Patient Care
- Maintain a limited clinical practice with a balanced allocation of administrative, educational, and clinical responsibilities.

Requirements - MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Board Certified in Addiction Medicine.
- Minimum of three (3) years of Addiction Medicine experience.
- Unrestricted New York State medical licensure.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and patient-centered care.
Preferred
- Prior Medical Director or physician leadership experience.
- Fellowship Program Director, Associate Program Director, or teaching experience.
- Experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, and clinical research.
