Job DescriptionCedars-Sinai Medical Center seeks an accomplished physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Interventional Pulmonology within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
This is an exciting opportunity to build and expand a dedicated interventional pulmonology program, ensuring excellence in clinical care while advancing education, research, program growth, and regional outreach.
Position Highlights- Lead and grow a comprehensive interventional pulmonary service across diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, pleural disease, and related complex procedures
- Partner with Pulmonary Fellows, House Staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth program operations
- Serve as a clinical and academic leader with responsibilities spanning clinical oversight, program development, teaching, and research enablement
- Provide technology assessment and procedural leadership to strengthen capabilities and outcomes
- Support Cedars-Sinai's mission of quality patient care, research, education, and community service
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical / Programmatic Leadership- Maintain high-quality patient care during preoperative evaluation and peri-procedural oversight
- Provide technology assessment for interventional pulmonary procedures
- Supervise patient management and coordinate care with fellows and house staff
- Provide technical/procedural expertise, including consultative guidance for complex cases
- Provide ongoing schedules for new and follow-up clinic consultations
- Ensure timely communication of procedure reports and documentation in accordance with professional standards
Administrative / Program Growth- Provide leadership in overall direction and growth of the interventional pulmonary program
- Develop institutional vision, strategic plans, referral pathways, and regional outreach
- Ensure quality, compliance, and fiscally sound clinical operations
- Collaborate to develop goals and objectives for the division and implement program needs
- Ensure compliance with patient rights, safety, education standards, and relevant policies
- Participate in divisional, departmental, and institutional committees and multidisciplinary collaborations
Teaching- Participate in the fellowship training program (pulmonary and critical care medicine)
- Educate trainees through rounds, lectures, conferences, and publications
- Mentor fellows and support faculty development
Research- Organize, implement, supervise, and coordinate research programs and clinical research infrastructure
- Participate in appropriate division research and help facilitate pulmonology research through collaboration
Compliance & Regulatory OversightEnsure compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation standards, quality assurance processes, and licensure requirements
Qualifications- Medical Degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certification in Interventional Pulmonary and Pulmonary Medicine (or eligibility)
- Unrestricted California medical license (or ability to obtain)
- CSMC Medical Staff Membership
- Eligibility for faculty appointment at Cedars-Sinai
- Experience in interventional pulmonary procedures
- Eligible for recommendation to academic rank at Cedars-Sinai
- Published author or equivalent scholarly activity
- Track record of excellence in teaching, patient care, and administration
- Computer competency with required clinical/business systems

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Pay Range: $413,054.00 - $590,449.00 Total Cash Compensation
