We are seeking an experienced
Psychiatrist to serve as
Medical Director for an established inpatient behavioral health program in
Biloxi, Mississippi.
This opportunity is based within a
55-bed psychiatric hospital providing inpatient behavioral health services across a broad patient population, from
adolescents through geriatric adults. The Medical Director will combine direct patient care with clinical leadership and oversight of the psychiatric program.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
- Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient assessments
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
- Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for the psychiatric program
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health professionals
- Provide clinical guidance and oversight to members of the treatment team
- Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
- Support development and implementation of clinical policies and standards
- Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and performance initiatives
- Collaborate with facility leadership regarding clinical operations and patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Requirements- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
- Eligible for a Mississippi medical license
- Inpatient Psychiatry experience preferred
- Experience treating a diverse psychiatric patient population preferred
- Medical Director or other physician leadership experience preferred
- Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
