Full Job Description
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate, forward-thinking Medical Director for the Developmental Pediatrics program at the Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ.

About the Department

The Developmental Pediatrics program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Children's Health Service line in northern New Jersey. The Director would lead a team including a physician, nurse practitioner and social workers to provide clinical expertise in early childhood development, behavioral, and psychosocial issues at the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD).

The KCCD offers a broad spectrum of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapies. A complete audiology service is also available on-site at the KCCD. In this position you will be part of a larger multi-specialty group including experienced providers in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary and Sleep medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, PM&R, and Neonatology all in collaboration with Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System.

Physician in this role will also participate in Department of Pediatrics activities, KCCD activities, and Hospital Committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Chair. Physician will also participate in outreach to interested community groups, including schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and other programs.

Academic appointments at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital are possible based on previous academic ranking and productivity.

Clinical requirements include the ability to complete a comprehensive neurodevelopmental/neurobehavioral evaluation, including a pertinent medical history for pediatric patients, perform a developmental/behavioral assessment and provide patient care management.

Qualifications
  • An MD/DO or equivalent degree
  • Board certified in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
  • Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required
  • Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
