Short Description

Bowman has an opportunity for a Mechanical Team Lead to join our team in Westminster, CO.

Purpose

Assist in management of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing division, including directing the technical production functions and all personnel decisions.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction
  • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
  • Provide oversight and direction of department or business unit including strategy, budgeting, staff, and deliverables.


At the Operational and Company Level
  • Assist with business development activities for current and prospective clients.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements.
  • Assist engineering teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Ensure the production and technical quality of the design, drawings, specifications, surveys, studies, reports and other products and services of the department.
  • Demonstrate and ensure conformance with company philosophy, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee and support department managers with planning and direction of activities of department staff including scheduling and monitoring budgets and quality of work.
  • Oversee and support department managers with monitoring department's time utilization and staffing levels.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities.
  • Foster and develop positive customer relationships which result in increased business.
  • Understand customer needs and assist in the development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities.
  • Maximize contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new enquiries for the business.
  • Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give us strategic leverage for future projects.


Do the Work
  • Assist in hiring, training, retaining and developing Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing engineering staff and department management.
  • Educate and encourage team of professionals to apply engineering practices that adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with projects in the department to ensure that the work is executed on time and on budget and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies and procedures.
  • Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
  • Research and collect outstanding monies due from clients.
  • Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods.
  • Communicate effectively with client, internal project team, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Develop project proposals, budgets, cost standards and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Fifteen or more (15+) years of design, project management, supervision, and client relationship experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in managing the financial, marketing, human resources, and operational aspects of an engineering department.
  • A proven track record of innovation, leadership, and creativity.
  • Knowledgeable of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing modeling software.


Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $120,000 - $180,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
