Description

Mechanical Superintendent

We're looking for a Mechanical Superintendent with mission critical experience who brings precision, accountability, and deep mechanical expertise to every site they run - someone who earns trust fast and treats every subcontractor, owner, and crew like a long-term partner, because at MCL, they are.

The title is Mechanical Superintendent. The real job is leading the mechanical scope that keeps mission critical projects cool, reliable, and running - from rough-in through commissioning.

Your Day-to-Day

Run the Mechanical Scope
• Lead all on-site mechanical operations for mission critical and data center projects - safe, clean, on schedule, and within budget.
• Coordinate chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, piping, and air-handling installations with MEP trades and commissioning teams.
• Own the mechanical schedule and manpower planning within the broader project schedule; maintain a clear six-week look-ahead for mechanical scope.
• Direct resource allocation, equipment use, and field cost control for mechanical work.
• Get ahead of schedule, budget, and scope issues on mechanical systems before they become problems.
• Manage field documentation specific to mechanical scope: RFIs, submittals, change orders, QC records, and commissioning documentation.

Lead People and Partners
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for mechanical subcontractors, engineers, and commissioning agents.
• Lead mechanical coordination meetings and weekly trade coordination with a focus on safety, schedule, and quality.
• Hold mechanical subcontractors accountable to performance and quality standards - professionally and consistently.
• Resolve field conflicts quickly so work keeps moving.

Hold the Line on Safety and Quality
• Maintain a visible, no-compromise safety presence on-site every single day, especially around pressurized systems and commissioning activities.
• Run toolbox talks, safety meetings, and inspections specific to mechanical hazards; document and address hazards immediately.
• Enforce MCL's quality standards through testing, balancing, and commissioning so the finished mechanical systems perform flawlessly from day one.

The Right Fit

You're a strong fit if you:
• 7+ years of progressive mechanical construction experience, with 3+ years running mechanical scope as a superintendent.
• Proven track record delivering mechanical systems on mission critical, data center, or similarly complex commercial projects.
• Deep knowledge of chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, piping systems, and the commissioning (Cx) process.
• Know your way around scheduling systems (Procore, P6, or similar) and actually use look-ahead planning.
• Fluent in mechanical contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and change order management.
• OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR a plus.
• Communicate directly and clearly - with owners, engineers, commissioning agents, and your own team.
• Run a clean, organized, professional job site without being told to.
• Able to travel or take extended project assignments when mission critical work calls for it.

Our Values

We hire for character as much as credentials. These four traits define the people who succeed at MCL:

Passionate - you care deeply about the work, the craft, and the people around you. This is more than a job to you.

Dedicated - you show up fully every day. When things get hard-and they will-you stay engaged.

Thorough - details matter. You don't hand something off or close it out until it's done right.

Respectful - you treat the owner, the sub, the laborer, and everyone in between with respect. It's not situational here-it's the standard.

What You're Walking Into

Competitive Compensation Package with benefits including: Medical, Dental & Vision • 401(k) with company match • Generous PTO • Travel opportunities • And more

You don't just run mechanical scope. You make sure mission critical systems stay cool and reliable - every time.

If that speaks to you, let's talk.
