About the Role:
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will design, develop and test mechanical components, equipment and machinery, applying sound engineering principles to create effective solutions. You will support the fabrication, operation, application, installation and repair of mechanical equipment, while providing technical guidance to plant staff and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, design, and manage improvement projects (e.g., new equipment installation and equipment modifications) to reduce scrap and improve quality, reliability, and throughput as directed
- Review plans and other technical documents, determines scope and/or timing of the project, and monitors costs and project progress.
- Support Operations group to accomplish clean-outs, preventive maintenance downtimes and machine rebuilds in a timely fashion
- Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting equipment that requires additional technical knowledge or expertise
- Maintain plant drawing system by making appropriate updates to drawings and documentation on equipment
- Support other plants with Mechanical Engineering projects and rebuilds as needed
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field required
Experience:
- Minimum 5 (five) years’ Engineering experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
- Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor or AutoCAD required
- Project Management experience required
