Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bid proposals, and collaborating with project managers to ensure successful project execution. This role is crucial in helping our company secure new projects while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project budgets
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to create competitive bids
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations to stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the estimation process
- Continuously update and refine estimating practices based on industry trends and project feedback
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- 3+ years Mechanical Estimator experience
- HVAC/R experience required
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
