Under the general direction of senior leadership, the Mechanical Engineering Manager oversees the design, development, and execution of mechanical systems and solutions, with a strong emphasis on aggregate processing equipment and industrial applications. This role leads a team of engineers and designers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company standards for quality, safety, and innovation.
Essential Job Functions:- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems, including aggregate processing equipment, conveyors, and structural components
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and manufacturability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, fabrication, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and standards to optimize production and reduce lead times
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet business objectives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including MIOSHA, OSHA, and MSHA
- Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise during project scoping and estimating
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong experience in aggregate industry equipment design (preferred)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (required); AutoCAD experience preferred
- Experience with:
- Aggregate conveyor systems and material handling equipment
- Structural steel and weldment design
- Hopper and chute design, including material flow considerations
- Platforms, stairways, and safety systems in compliance with MSHA/OSHA
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
