Scope of Position
This detail-oriented individual, as part of the Mechanical Engineering team, will be responsible for end-to-end mechanical design and development from concept through production. This position will support operations and manufacturing, along with other engineering departments, by providing production quality prints, incorporating feedback, and prioritizing system integration.
This position does not have any direct reports This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and is onsite based in Oviedo, FL.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, design, and development of stainless-steel fixtures, valves, and ancillary components utilizing various manufacturing methods (sheet metal, casting, machining, and injection molding)
- Perform lab testing and gather data to support prototype validation and performance evaluation
- Work with outside vendors to develop components
- Finalizing and verifying tooling and product designs for molding/production purposes
- Troubleshot mechanical issues during development, production, and testing phases for various mechanical components
- 3D modeling of components, producing and maintaining technical drawings of the Company’s products, and creating drawings of products for marketing purposes
- Work cross-functionally with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure project alignment
- Interpret technical requirements and specifications to drive product design and development
- Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Mechanical Engineering Manager or the Company management.
- Act with integrity in all internal and external interactions by providing technically accurate information and representing product capabilities and system performance responsibly
- Travel Requirements: Moderate (10-25%)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with new product development
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and manufacturing drawings
- Previous work experience with project management and new product design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of manufacturing process and design for manufacturability
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering and manufacturing teams
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as within a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ASME, ASSE, and plumbing industry standards
- Experience with high security, anti-ligature, or vandal-resistant product design
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Working Conditions:
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Oviedo location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
