Roberts Sinto is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Team in Grand Ledge, MI

What You Will Do

Mechanical Engineer is responsible for Generating General Arrangement/Layout CAD drawings at the initial stage of the engineering effort of an SMS project. These drawings, which are built on the SMS Sales Proposal Drawings, are to represent both SMS/RSC's offering and the customer's expectations..

General

  • Generate General Arrangement/Layout Drawings that meets project criteria related to proposals, estimates, customer specifications, procedures, and codes.
  • Provide information to Purchasing Department to solicit bids and order materials in advance.
  • Submit drawings to the customer for review and approval.
  • At times, travel to customer's facility to assist in installation, set-up, and perform field checks .


What We Want From You

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of design experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design and Solid Modeling software; Autodesk Suite-Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks experience preferred.
  • Experience in designing heavy equipment or familiarity with foundry equipment is highly preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, scientific and technical journals, reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and customers.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of algebra and plane and solid geometry. Ability to work apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or equipment, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
