COMPENSATION:

  • Mechanical Engineer I - $90,551.00 - $114,033.00
  • Mechanical Engineer II - $107,655.00 - $130,058.00
  • Mechanical Engineer III - $120,427.00 - $141,970.00


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will support the Power Engineering group that provides technical support for the Power operating group that maintains 230 substations. Support testing of substation equipment. Represent the Engineering group at departmental meetings, review approve/disapprove contractor submittals, test reports, test procedures, and FMIs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Mechanical Engineer I
  • A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer and one year in the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional or specific expertise within the discipline of mechanical engineering.

Mechanical Engineer II
  • A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer and four years of full-time experience in mechanical Engineering with at least two years in the last five years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional or specific expertise within the discipline of mechanical engineering.

Mechanical Engineer III
  • A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer and four years of full-time experience in mechanical Engineering with at least three years in the last four years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional or specific expertise within the discipline of mechanical engineering.


DESIRED SKILLS :

  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Mechanical systems design experience in sprinkler system, plumbing system, HVAC design and familiarity with all applicable regulations and codes as well as safety policies. Familiarity with the continuing/evolving ADA rules and experience in using NYS Codes, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME Codes which are nationally recognized standards. Be familiar with Electrical designs such as facility distribution systems, Generator systems and Utility services.
