Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the development of robotic surgical systems from concept through commercialization. This role is focused on new product development (NPD) and requires strong technical depth, hands-on execution, and the ability to work within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

The engineer will collaborate closely with surgeons, software, electrical, and manufacturing teams to translate clinical and user needs into robust, innovative mechanical designs. This position requires a balance of creative problem-solving and structured engineering rigor, with an emphasis on rapid prototyping, iterative design, and risk retirement.

Essential Functions:
  • Design and develop robotic subsystems and mechanical assemblies from concept through release
  • Drive prototyping, testing, and design iteration to meet performance and usability goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define requirements, interfaces, and system architecture
  • Support V&V testing, including benchtop and simulated/clinical environments
  • Lead hands-on prototype builds, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles and support transition to manufacturing
  • Contribute to design documentation and DHF deliverables
