Your New RoleAs our new Mechanical Engineer, you will be working across a wide range of mechanical design knowledge areas and have a desired focus area in HVAC design of chemical, power, and/or industrial facilities. The candidate will work alongside other experienced and entry level engineers in an environment where sharing knowledge to develop innovative technically sound designs is considered the key to success.
Your key responsibilities will be: - Performing design and engineering work in various areas of the mechanical discipline. The majority of the work will be related to heating, ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); however, the candidate should also expect work in industrial piping, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projects.
- Developing conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle.
- Creating design drawings utilizing Revit 3D design software.
- Conducting or participating in investigative energy assessments to identify energy and cost savings measures.
- Assessing and designing building ventilation systems based on requirements for heat removal in industrial spaces and maintaining indoor air quality.
- Conducting spreadsheet analysis to assess the energy and cost savings of proposed energy conservation measures (ECMs)
- Utilizing building modeling software to determine envelope heat gains/losses and assess savings potentials of ECMs.
- Specifying mechanical equipment
- Designing plumbing and building utility piping systems
- Summarizing engineering results in written reports and/or presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality.
- Visiting job sites as required for projects involving upfit of existing systems. A mix of day trips and overnight domestic trips should be expected.
- Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Ramboll's Project Execution Manual.
- Promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll's Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems
- Experience designing large scale hydronic systems
- Working knowledge of fire protection requirements for industrial facilities, including the IFC, NFPA standards and FM Global guidelines.

Salary TransparencyAt Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
