OverviewLutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer in Boston, MA. In this role, you will help develop innovative, high-quality products that strengthen Lutron's position as the global leader in automated lighting and shading solutions.

Responsibilities - Design mechanical components, assemblies, tools, and fixtures for performance and manufacturability.
- Create 3D CAD models and engineering documentation for products and design changes.
- Perform FEA, tolerance analyses, DFM, and FMEA to validate designs.
- Identify and implement product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
- Prototype designs using 3D printing, machine shops, and supplier resources.
- Build and test prototypes to evaluate performance and improve solutions.
- Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback into product designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products.
- Source, qualify, and support production tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, supplier, and customer issues using root cause analysis.
- Uphold quality standards, customer focus, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Science, or related field.
- Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned.
- 5+ years of mechanical product design experience.
- Experience using 3D CAD software in a product development environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including statics and material properties.
- Experience with manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, extrusion, forming, and machining.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA.

The salary range for this position is dependent on the selected candidate's experience and the level at which they are hired. Starting pay: $102,500.00 - $120,000 per year; Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
