Full Job Description
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Corporate Director, Innovation, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative technologies related to mining equipment, ore haulage systems, and critical infrastructure.

As a Mechanical Engineer, Innovation, you will be responsible for assessing technological solutions from suppliers and partners to evaluate their relevance for mining operations, particularly in terms of performance, reliability, costs, and maintenance. You will play a key role in the identification, evaluation, and deployment of innovative technologies, as well as taking responsibility for the development of financial structures and technology maturation plans.

You will also be called upon to support various groups in the integration of the technologies and initiatives under your responsibility, providing technical and strategic support throughout the process.

Specifically, you will be required to:

  • Monitor available and emerging innovations in the mining sector (extraction, transportation, infrastructure, etc.);
  • Identify high-potential technologies to improve operational performance and reliability;
  • Conduct comparative analyses and techno-economic studies;
  • Participate in technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility, feasibility);
  • Support the deployment of pilot projects and technology integration;
  • Contribute to the improvement of maintenance practices and asset management;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and partners;
  • Document and structure innovation files.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field;
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant experience, including strong maintenance experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of mining equipment (underground and surface);
  • Experience in a mining environment (major asset);
  • Leadership, critical thinking, and influencing skills;
  • Proficiency in English, as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language.


Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule;
  • Workplace: Possibility to work in one of Agnico Eagle's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or ou Mirabel. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an Agnico Eagle office and some days in telecommuting. The incumbent of this position will be required to travel to all sites on an occasional basis; therefore, the work schedule may vary according to operational needs.
