Mechanical Engineer III - Systems Development Posting Start Date: 6/17/26 Job Location (Short): Peoria, Illinois, USA, 61639 Requisition ID: 35932 Onsite or Remote: Onsite Position Job Overview Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services per market demands, and for continual process improvements. Perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, fundamental calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes. Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems associated with engineering projects or evaluations. Key Job Responsibilities - Design, test, and implement systems and components for automation of mining equipment. - Collaborate with other engineers to complete new designs and develop solutions. - Conduct and participate in design reviews. - Create and present development schedules and status updates. - Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices. - Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or services. - Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organization. Qualifications/Requirements - Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required. - Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in engineering design, machine application, mining industry, desired. - Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools. - Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired. - Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired. - Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), required. - Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial. Additional Information Hiring Range At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $85,000 - $110,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
