  • Pay Rate:$53.41/hr
About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in supporting repair engineering operations within a leading energy technology manufacturing and service environment. You'll help ensure quality, reliability, and compliance across gas turbine component repairs while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy technologies, influence repair processes, and contribute directly to the performance and integrity of critical power generation equipment used around the world.
What You'll Do

As a key member of the engineering team, you will:
  • Manage repair qualifications for the Greenville Service Center, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve Repair Non-Conformance Notifications (NCNs) with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Provide daily support for Built in Quality (BIQ) initiatives to enhance operational performance and product quality.
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Advanced Manufacturing, and Repair Technology teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Evaluate and recommend updates to Repair Engineering Instructions (REIs) for gas turbine components.
  • Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and process effectiveness.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and help implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of engineering processes and repair methodologies.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, execution excellence, and process discipline.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Computer Science, or related discipline) from an accredited university.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, execution, and process rigor.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or project-based learning related to gas turbine design, repair, manufacturing, or service operations.
  • Internship, academic, or hands-on experience in gas turbine technology.
  • Exposure to process development technologies such as:
    • Fixture development
    • Machining (mills, EDMs)
    • Laser cladding or ablation
    • Joining and brazing processes
    • Coating technologies
    • Inspection technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Self-motivated mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions, innovate, and drive positive change.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence.
