This role provides the opportunity to own mechanical design activities across small-to-medium strategic projects, supporting products from concept through production. You'll work on highly engineered sensing solutions that must meet demanding performance, durability, quality, and reliability requirements in challenging field environments.

This position is part of the Research & Development team located in Fort Collins, Colorado, and will be onsite.

In This Role, a Typical Day Will Look Like:

  • Own the mechanical design and development of submersible sensors and other water-monitoring products from concept through production.

  • Create and release 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation while ensuring designs are manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective.

  • Partner closely with R&D teams, manufacturing, product management, supply chain, and suppliers to drive successful product development and launch activities.

  • Lead product testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations to improve product quality, reliability, and long-term performance.

  • Apply engineering analysis and data-driven decision making-including FEA, thermal, structural, and tolerance assessments-to solve complex design challenges and support small-to-medium project execution.

The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline with 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering or product design experience.

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD design tools, including the creation of models, assemblies, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Experience supporting mechanical product development projects, including design, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

It Would Be a Plus If You Also Have:

  • SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience.

  • Experience with FEA, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing.

  • Experience designing molded and machined components.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
