Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert in HVAC and controls systems design for healthcare facilities.
  • Provide mechanical engineering services as part of a multi-discipline project team.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of mechanical systems, including hydronic, steam, and medical gas systems.
  • Complete mechanical engineering design tasks on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior mechanical design staff.
  • Communicate technical designs and evaluations with project managers and clients effectively.
  • Develop new work and client relationships related to mechanical engineering for healthcare.

YOUR DAY-DAY WILL INCLUDE:
  • This person is a technical expert in HVAC and controls systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for healthcare facilities.
  • This person serves as the mechanical engineer providing technical and design services in support of projects as part of a multi-discipline project team.
  • They will direct and conduct technical evaluations of mechanical equipment/systems, hydronic and steam systems, and medical has systems and prepare design calculations and assessments as needed to support projects.
  • Be responsible for completing mechanical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Assist in the technical development of subordinate staff in mechanical design best practices.
  • Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as with a Project Manager and representatives of the client organization to complete work efficiently.
  • Must stay current with local, state & federal design standards and regulations.
  • In addition, this person will have opportunity and responsibility to develop new work and clients related to mechanical engineering services for healthcare facilities.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • NC PE or ability to acquire - NC PE quickly through reciprocity.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Healthcare facilities projects required.
  • Experience with HVAC systems including hydronic systems, steam systems and medical gas systems is required.
  • High technical ability, interested in technology and staying current in the field.
  • Good ability to communicate and a self-starter.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
